Measured test results: every inflator we have bench tested

Every portable air compressor and tire inflator we have measured, in one table: fill times, gauge error, duty limit and noise on the same tire and the same gauge.

Every unit below was timed on the same 225/65R17 tire at 66–68°F and checked against the same calibrated digital gauge. These are our numbers, not manufacturer claims, and the full procedure is on how we test. Where a value is missing we did not measure it — we say so rather than estimate.

Metrics we did not measure for a unit show as —. Larger-tire runs are listed per unit inside each review, and are not comparable across units where the test tire differed.

Inflation speed

The spread is wider than most buyers expect: the fastest unit is 2.5× quicker on a routine top-up than the slowest, and the gap grows on a completely flat tire.

Gauge accuracy

A gauge that reads high is the most common way people end up under-inflated: you stop when the dial says 35 PSI and the tire is closer to 31. Digital units dominated this test.
